St. Claude de la Colombière was born in 1641 in the city of Saint-Symphorien-d'Ozon, then in the ancient Province of Dauphiné, the third child of the notary Bertrand de la Colombière and of Margaret Coindat. He became a Jesuit priest, a missionary and ascetical writer. He wrote Pious Reflections, Meditations on the Passion, and Retreat and Spiritual Letters.
He also was the confessor of St. Margaret Mary Alacoque. Saints travel together, right?
