St. Timothy

St. Timothy was bishop of Ephesus in the first century. Tradition says he died around AD 97.

His name means honoring God or honored by God.

Timothy's mother was Jewish who became a Christian. His father was Greek. He became a companion of St. Paul's, along with Silas. He was the recipient of the First and Second Epistles to Timothy.
